Switzerland, Rebuilding river power plant in Aarau
||Placing sheet piles for construction site.
||ICE 28RFs & 18RFts
The river power plant Rüchlig in Aarau has taken out of service in July 2012. This began the main construction phase of the around 130 million francs costing comprehensive renovation of the power plant. The old power station is completely shut down and the river Aare is set to it's old course. The renewed Axpo Rüchlig power plant should be operational mid-2015 and produce enough electricity for 14,000 households.
With the decommissioning of the power plant began the dismantling of the power house. Sheet piles for stabilization of the construction site are on the island and in the water are vibrated into the ground. Alongside this, the preparations of the construction pit for the main power plant are started. The demolition of the old power plant will be completed by the end of September 2012.
The sheet piles were placed by two ICE RF vibratory hammers. The company Rothpletz, Lienhard + Cie AG used a 28RFs hammer which was rented from our Swiss Dealer Oscar Meier AG/SA. The other ICE machines used at the site was a 18RFts owned bij Meier + Jäggi AG.
