At the end of 2014 World Top Group (WTG) finished a remarkable project in Saudi Arabia. In the dessert sand sheet piles were driven in a trench to excavate safely a groove for a pipeline. In segments of approximately 100m the Arcelor Mittal sheet piles were driven into the soil, and after covering the layed pipeline the sheet piles were retracted and replaced into the next 100m. So working 24/6, a distance of 12 kilometer between the Red Sea and the power plant was covered.
Our Saudi Arabian dealer, AFI is stand by to assist WTG in case of service, spare parts and advice. AFI has a substantial quantity of spares of these machines in stock. Even though until now (end January 2015) only minor service was necessary, WTG is happy with this supporting role of AFI.
The project is part of the design and construction of an oil-fired power plant, a seawater desalination unit and associated facilities at Yanbu, in Al Madinah province, on the western coast of Saudi Arabia. The power plant will have an installed capacity of 3 100 MW and will make use of heavy fuel oil (HFO) as the main fuel source, with diesel oil used only for startup. The plant will be connected to the Saudi Electricity Company grid through a 380 kV substation, which will also be built on site.
WTG also proudly announces that one of the employee's done well jobs in part of 5 million safe man hours in this project and got awarded. Dieseko also congratulates Abdul Kadar and Sabbir Ahamed and the supporting workers archieving these safe man hours!
